I support nonprofits to create and sustain transformative programs that take down barriers for systems-impacted communities.

Drawing on deep experience in youth- and immigrant-centered organizations, I provide full-cycle grant support, develop evaluation systems and tools, and guide trauma-informed program design.

Full-Cycle Grant Support

Strategic partnership to handle all your grant needs, from prospecting to reporting and renewal.

Program Evaluation and Design

Design transformative youth programs that create meaningful change – and the systems to prove it!

Full-Cycle Grant Support

Grant writing grounded in program experience. I've managed programs, designed evaluation systems, and tracked outcomes from the inside. This means proposals and reports that reflect your actual programs and values, and seamless integration of data, storytelling, and systems analysis to inspire trust and build lasting collaborations.

Full grant lifecycle support — from research to reporting. Prospecting, LOI's, proposals, reporting, evaluation design, grants calendar management, building boilerplates. I handle the complexity so you can stay focused on your mission.

Direct experience with the communities you serve

I have supported grant writing for organizations serving youth, immigrants, women, and economic and environmental justice. I have deep experience working alongside systems-impacted communities with trauma sensitivity and cultural humility.

How I work

I know you manage multiple priorities to advance your mission, and I am honored to be a trusted partner to take grants off your hands. Highly organized and adaptive to workflows, I balance operating independently with strategic communication in order to maximize impact.

As a thought partner for developing strategic funding channels and messaging, I am creative and highly responsive to feedback. I have excellent judgement and strong ethics, and I am committed to using my skills to increase funding for organizations advancing a more just, equitable, and healthy world.

Program and evaluation design for organizations working with youth

In over a decade working with youth-serving organizations, I have seen them come up against similar challenges.

Some are doing meaningful work without the evaluation systems to prove it – to funders, to communities, or to themselves. Some operate with unexamined assumptions that end up re-traumatizing or perpetuating harm. Often organizations have difficulty replicating programs because they don’t have a clear theory of change or they rely on a few talented service providers.

I help organizations partnering with youth to make a real  difference in their lives, supporting the design and evaluation of programming that is trauma-informed, evidence-based, youth-centered, and ready to scale.

Program and Curriculum Development

Design new programming or assess and strengthen existing programs using a trauma-informed, evidence-based framework grounded in youth leadership and systems awareness.

Evaluation Design

Build evaluation systems that demonstrate impact and fuel ongoing learning – including logic models, key performance indicators, and data collection tools designed for and with your community.

Staff Training and Coaching

Build your team's capacity to implement trauma-informed, equity-centered youth programming that adapts to your community’s changing needs.

How I work

My approach is rooted in trauma-informed practice and Popular Education. That means building relevant, impactful programming by centering youth experience and strengths. It means program frameworks that account for the layered impact of institutions, systems, and trauma on young people.  And it means evaluation systems that are informed by those most impacted.

My superpower is in structuring transformative programs that are evidence based, adaptive, and scalable. When training and coaching teams, I focus on building organizational capacity that lasts beyond our partnership.  I have supported clients to implement highly impactful programs that are still going strong ten years after our collaboration.

About Danielle

My career has been focused on taking down barriers and providing resources for systems-impacted youth, women, and immigrants to thrive.  This work has spanned the fields of economic justice, mental health, entrepreneurship, and social-emotional learning.

My expertise comes from a decade of working in direct service with youth in the Bay Area and Mexico, as well as training the adults who work with them. I have built institutional capacity in trauma-informed mindfulness practice and developed published curricula for the classroom. With the pandemic I shifted my focus to program evaluation and grant writing, helping a small but powerful immigrant-serving organization raise close to $3 million in grant funding over three years. My accomplishments include writing successful foundation and government grants and redesigning nonprofit evaluation systems, from theory of change to tailored evaluation tools and data management.

Bilingual and culturally humble, I am passionate about supporting organizations to create and sustain impactful, community-centered programs.
